lbermarle Sound is little known. But it's one of the largest bodies of fresh water in America. Some people call it the Inner Banks. Hundreds of years ago, it was a favorite hiding place for Blackbeard, the pirate. Today, it is the site of Bal Gra Harbor, a master-planned community soon to be developed at the mouth of Salmon Creek, just one mile from Highway 17 and near the historic town of Edenton.

When complete, this 1,500-acre piece of coastal paradise will have a deep water marina, town center, and a variety of home options. The Marina Village offers city lots and picturesque streetscapes; there's a town center with shops and restaurants, all oriented to a large yacht harbor. The Bluffs Village offers convenient access to the Beach Club. The Parks includes nearly a dozen small parks, a community center with pool, and it backs up to a protected cypress forest and the River Club Nature Center. And The Preserve has a small rustic lodge and offers a small number of homes nestled in forest clearings. To explore for yourself, click below.
